| Announcement: MxO Getting Unplugged |

I don't think anyone views this site any more, but if you haven't heard, MxO is finally closing its doors on July 31, 2009. It's hard to believe it stayed open this long. Since Rarebit left SOE, there was no one left to generate new content for the game. I renewed for one month recently, but without the rest of The Company, it didn't hold my interest for long. They are going to have a final event, similar to the end of beta. If you are thinking about renewing for that, well... it's too late. They shut down registration as of June 1. I'm hoping they open up the world for free the last few days to all past subscribers, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Here is more info on the closing:

I stuck with MxO for a while, but the highlight for me was definitely the first few months when The Company was strong. If you want to hook up with former members of The Company, I think some are still playing WoW.
Personally, I'm looking forward to the next generation of MMOs coming in 2010, like Star Wars: The Old Republic, The Secret World, Star Trek Online, and The Agency. Maybe I'll see you online. Until then, I'm playing mostly single-player games.
